AA: Exec Plat #2 for $3,220.90 ai (3.26cpm/1.69rdm) or $2,669.50 ai (2.60cpm/1.30rdm)

Pucnit is back to give you some great ideas on how to make Excutive Plat on AA. Please note most the information assumes you have nothing listed below...

You'll Need
  • FoundersCard Membership
  • Costco Membership
  • $3,388.50
  • Sign up for the DEQM AA promotion. (Search other forums for address issues.)
  • Sign up for the AA Plat Challenge.
  • Admiral's Club Membership (optional)
  • About 13 days...

Flight Path:
Total: 7,572 eqm rt (no status) / 7,980 eqm rt (gold status+)
CMH-ORD-LAX-ORD-CMH
296/500 - 3490 - 3490 - 296/500
(Some other cities are options too!)

Costs:
  • FoundersCard Membership - $295.00
  • Costco Membership - $110.00 Executive
  • $2,699.90 in AA Gift Card from Costco ($3,000 value)
  • Plat Challenge - $200
  • $83.60 cash

Benefits:
  • FoundersCard Membership for 1 yr (10% AA codes)
  • Costco Membership Executive Membership 1/2 paid for 1 yr ($110-54 for gift card purchase)
  • 101,292 EQM
  • 94,763 RDM
  • 36 Stickers
  • 8 SWU/EVIPS

Now if you have all these extra items already and are a but a simple Plat member like me... You'll actually get a few miles different...
  • 103,740 EQM
  • 103,740 RDM
  • 40 Stickers

The title should be edited to properly reflect the cpm for the RDMs.

You can actually do it for less just flying BOS-DFW-SEA-DFW-BOS over and over again in January. That routing costs slightly under 2.5 cpm without any discount codes or gift card savings.

If you do multi-city on AA.com and go BOS-DFW-PHX-LAX-BOS, 5411 miles (5541 once you get 500 mile mins for PHX-LAX), you can get it for around $224.80, and with the redeye LAX-BOS arriving BOS at 6:20AM and a BOS-DFW flight working for the routing leaving at 9:20AM, you could theoretically do that for days on end. 2.08 cpm at 5411 miles. 10 straight days and you are EXP for around $2248 and the 10 craziest straight days of most of our lives.

(Disclaimer: I have checked the fare but have not checked if this is possible for 10 straight days, either flight-wise or farewise, it is valid for at least 10 total days in January though!)

Thank you, you are correct, that is better than BOS-SEA-BOS. I just put a more conservative BOS-DFW-PHX-DFW-BOS on Hold for ~2.2 cpm. It has the advantage of fitting entirely in the weekend and giving me 24 hours in PHX.

I'm also doing something similar with BOS-LAX-LAS-LAX-BOS for ~2.73 cpm, I've been wanting a good deal to Vegas for months.

Has it ever been determined if founders card is a scam or not?

PHX has been my MR capital of the year. I dont mind the stop over as its much nicer then east coast temps.

I have and use FoundersCard for several discounts including the 10% off AA codes. They are legit and I have saved much more on my membership then the cost.

I imagine it would get boring after a few visits, the buy up to Vegas (<$100 per trip) seems worth it every now and then.

I really love that I'm ticketing 3 domestic roundtrips with over 17,500 upgradeable BIS miles with one VDB voucher and won't miss a single day of work.

And good call on Vegas, I'd like to spend time there, I've been to PHX already.

And really, isn't anywhere else better than BOS in January? PHX and LAS definitely are .

The BOS-PHX fare at ~2 cpm appears to have been pulled as a mistake, however other fares including BOS-SEA at ~2.5 cpm are still available.

I got 3 LGA-DFW-LAX (same day turns) on hold for 320 each which is 3cpm EQM and one LGA-DFW-PDX and another LGA-DFW-SEA r/t both of them for 341 each. Total comes to about 2.9cpm for EQM.

is that a decent deal? any thing anyone able to work out better from NYC?
