I emailed farecompare last night and got a rather quick response.
Gabe we are in the midst of a massive rollout of new backend software to comply with new DOT regulations in January.
Getting the FT app back up is on the list, but I don't have an exact time yet.
Sorry I can't be more specific - I will try to put a post up on FT tomorrow to provide status.

Make you could just bring back the old one? Was something wrong with it?
Or at least bring it back until you're ready to bring out a new/different version. I too, feel bereft. Don't realize how much we depended on it until it wasn't there for us!

The FlyerTalk fare finder is gone from the page altogether now. Doesn't even say "coming soon". This can't bode well...

I guess I should count myself lucky to not have discovered/gotten used to that which may not come back. Reminds me a bit of shutting down easySABRE and going to a clunky Web-based thing that didn't have the same power (for expert users, at least).
For FC, I'd just be happy if the DealFinder gave accurate prices, as they misprice the YQ more often than not and usually don't agree with ITA on things like Europe trips. Maybe Rick Seaney has been so busy with media availabilities that he hasn't had time to notice.

A classic case of if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've emailed them about it a couple of times over the past four months and never once gotten a response. It'd be nice if they could just reinstate the old system. I might be interested even if it were by subscription.
