UA/CO Segment run ideas

With 1k going up to 120 segments, I'm looking for segement run ideas. However, I'm more concerned with being able to do the maximum number of segements in the course of a single weekend at an OK price than minimizing the cost.

LAX-SFO is one option with 8 segments per day doable on paper, and ~$50/segement sometimes available, but both airports are so congested that short connection times are risky as a single missed connection could mess the whole thing up.

SEA-PDX looks like 10 segements a day may be possible at $70 per segement, which is on the upper limit pricewise and with no F could get brutal comfort-wise by the end of the day.

Any other ideas for short routes with a dense schedule and reasonable fares and great summer OT performance ? I'm pretty familiar with what UA has, but maybe there is something on CO I haven't thought of ? Some mainline or Explus flights in the mix a definite positive....

UA also has DEN-COS.

CO has IAH-AUS, IAH-DFW/DAL, IAH-SAT, and other TX routes.

I'd avoid SFO if you could. LAS-LAX-SAN is often pretty cheap with a fair number of flights to choose from.

Thanks - hadn't thought of that one; 8 segements per day is possible without tight connections - though right now there are nfew cheap flights on dates I'm looking at. Maybe I can find some other SAN-LAX-XXX that would work.

Any reason for avaoiding SFO besides the one I mentioned ?

COS-DEN, like SAN-LAX is very expensive, and DEN is too far from anywhere else big to make cheaper connecting flights viable.

PHL-NYC and iad to NYC and bos to NYC have lots owf times and decent on time schedules.

I would be willing to do any segment runs from SBN/ORD/MKE/IND. I can't get near that price point though. UA/CO Metal well... Maybe US airways

Just that it's both congested and frequently prone to delays due to wx (fog).

On the West Coast variations/permutations of SAN-LAX-SBN-SFO-SMF have worked well (but you've got the SFO factor)
Midwest/East coast I've used MKE-ORD-XXX-IAD-RIC where XXX can be any number of cities depending on the fare. You can also terminate at several other cities other than RIC.
Even premeger, the segment fares have been astronomical. YMMV.

NYC ... LGA in particular is prone for flight delays if you get a weather front moving thru. I can fill my hands and feet up counting the number of weather related delays I have encountered using NYC as a starting point.

I love this thread ^

It is really tough for me to find a good MR recent days with my limitation... segment run might be a better option this year.
