I was wondering about that myself. Does that mean that trips from these US departure points to any points beyond Doha would benefit from the offer (i.e. JFK-DOH-CPT)? Or is it really the case that the offer just is not good if you're starting from Houston, New York or Washington? (If the latter was the case, then they hardly would have advertised the offer on the US site: http://www.qatarairways.com/us/100)

They use different wording for GRU/EZE (between Sao Paolo and Buenos Aires) which would seem to imply that if you're travelling onwards to/past Doha from either GRU or EZE, you'll get the offer.

At the moment, I'd be leaning towards saying that if you want to travel to DOH you won't get the offer, but if you go even a little further (AUH, DXB etc) then you will get it. Dependent on seat availability, of course.

At least my interpretation is that the offer is valid from the US, just not if your destination is Doha.

Why would the put "to Doha" there to confuse people, if what they wanted to say is "not valid for passengers from Houston, Washington and New York (full stop)."

I think the recent political unrest and disturbances in Middle East including Qatar is hurting the bottom line of the airline and they are desperate to fill the empty seats. Just my 2cents.

I tried the website to see if US travellers can benefit from the offer when travelling to destinations other than Doha - but the website appears to be taking a hammering. I couldn't connect.

For people travelling in May this could be a nice offer, a price reduction of ~30% (50% reduction only applies to the fare, not taxes).

H class tickets do not apply, so this offer is not for the cheapest booking class. Plus side is that both travellers will get 100% mileage.

Have you found anything interesting ex-OTP?

I tried to check out SEZ, but Qatar's site wouldn't price it for me, and there are only 35 min for a connection.

Due to technical problems with our booking engine provider, several airlines are currently experiencing difficulties with their online bookings. Qatar Airways is also affected and is therefore postponing the 48-hour '2 for 1' online ticket offer for one day. The promotion will now be effective from April 7 (00:01 hrs) to April 8 (23:59hrs). Qatar Airways regrets the inconvenience, but will honour all bookings made to date for the offer.

I know this has been delayed a day and will start at 00:01 on April 7th -- I assume that's Doha time (GMT+3)?

No - according to their advertising blurbs, the sale starts at midnight in each locale (they were advertising that Australia would be the first to be able to book).

That said, I did manage to get on the website earlier this morning and nose around looking at prices. The reduced fares were showing up, but I didn't actually go through and try to buy anything.

Clearly no one considered the capacity of their booking engine....

Due to technical problems with our booking system, customers may have experienced difficulties booking the 2-for-1 offer.

For this reason, Qatar Airways is postponing the special promotion to start on 13 April (00:01hrs) until 14 April (23:59hrs). Qatar Airways will honour all 2-for-1 bookings made to date for this offer.

You still stand a chance to win 1 of 100 pairs of economy tickets to a Qatar Airways destination of your choice by signing up below.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience and look forward to welcoming you at qatarairways.com/100 very soon.

Biggest challenge from OTP is that the offer a lot the H fare, not valid for this promo. You can avoid it if you as a stopover or layover in DOH (it prices then in R), or if you ask a smart travel agent to look for the higher fares. As a reference, these are prices in H ex-OTP:
- OTP-BKK or OTP-SIN - 550 eur fare + 220 eur taxes
- OTP-MNL - 660 eur fare + 200 eur taxes.

Depending on fare difference between H and the next Y fare, discount can be around 40%, which I think it's damn good for OTP.

I wouldn't worry about short connection time in DOH, worst-case they rebook you to next day and give you accomodation, but in 8 flights this year with them I never had delays...

I can see the fares in KVS, so I can tell what it would be ai for 2 pax, depending on the particular availability.

I'm trying to find a destination that is not a usualy or common *A destination, and not a lot of flying time, since it's Y. That's why I looked at OTP-SEZ

Can someone tell my why the QR site quotes me K fare at 903 (KVS says K fare is 778), and Q fare 948 vs 878 on KVS. Taxes are a further 254 EUR. The return has a forced overnight (if that makes a difference). Thanks.

Edit: I realized what was up, the return fare bucket was actually higher with the dates I searched, I hadn't noticed.

What if you have a force overnight at Qatar? I saw that they offer comp. hotel for transit pax has a layover over 8 hrs. Does anyone know which booking class for Y can get that? Otherwise you will have to add another USD 125 for get a room.

Also anyone has any clue if the 2 for 1 promo has the same price as if you book a single ticket? I tried to 'book' a K class from CPH-HKG and the fare turned out to be something like DKK 6130 (so after discount it will be something like DKK 2500 + Tax DKK1978). Would QR sells the ticket at the same price as you buy it without the 2 for 1 offer?
