No, I think that means the intra-Europe segment will get miles if connecting to a transcon flight. The long-haul segment will not accrue miles if booked in T/L.

I dont think so. I have flown LH L fares on TATL and have received 100% UA miles for both intra-EU and TATL leg of the flight.

+1. You also get the elite bonus, so you get lots of RDMs.

This page - http://www.miles-and-more.com/online...l=en&cid=18002 - shows European flights ('international European flights') in L earn a flat rate of 125 M+M miles per sector, and destinations worldwide (Flights from / to / between non-Eur. destinations) earn 50%, min 500 M+M miles.

However ISTR that posts in the M+M forum say that no mileage is earned on some promotional TATL L fares.

This page - http://www.united.com/page/article/0,,1189,00.html - shows no MP credit for L in Europe but 100% actual miles for L 'within Europe but connecting to a transcontinental flight'.

It does not specifically say what is earned in L outside Europe.

I admit to being confused. Pity there's nothing for LH L in LH-owned BMI Diamond Club.

The rule is if LH doesn't give miles for TATL L classes, you probably won't earn them for UA L, as why would LH give partners miles for L but not its own members?

LH does give miles for L fare, whatever the distance. UA gives miles for LH L class fares on long haul routes and their feeder flights.
