wrong forum i know, but perhaps someone can tell me if the application form [which has page 1 & 2] is front and back of 1 sheet or 2 sheets or either....tia

As I recall, it's a single sheet. It doesn't matter, however. You can download it from any Chinese consular website -- it's written in English and Chinese and calls for only the most basic information.

I downloaded it about a year ago, filled it out and took it to the counselate. It wasn't too bad, although I'd say they are not friendly.

The form is one page. I'm sure you know there are a number of services online that will walk it in for you. Those of us outside of LA/SF/NYC/Houston have little choice anyway.
