Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll have you know that my current trip, I have 6 free nights (4 Hyatt, 1 PC PB, 1 IC Bogo), 3 nights at $30 a night or less. And the rest between $135-$150 a night in Hong Kong and Shenzhen IC's and Hyatt's which is a pretty good feat.

The whole point of getting miles though, is to get free flights. If you could just buy the flights at an excellent price, then you wouldn't even have to worry about keeping status.

It's strange, some of the most hard core fliers that I know, are now dropping down to mid tier or lower status, and just flying on miles from credit card churn, US Air transferred miles, or other ways to backdoor miles without flying.

Just booked all the way through, put my cc info in, and got a message that there is a "Booking System Error"....
Will try again.....

IT WORKED! Thank you to my buddy who emailed me about this (you know who you are! ^). I will now be visiting HNL for Christmas (if the ticket gets issued, says still pending, but I got a confirmation number), and it'll be nice to be out of the Seoul cold for 10 days!

On my confirmation email, it says First Class, but who knows.... ICN-HNL in C or F for $656.00 a/i can't be beat.... Even if it's KE's old style C....

If you don't want to take a chance, then don't buy a ticket. Some people have the knowledge and are willing to risk the purchase on a good deal such as this.

Some can't handle it. I recall when I put up my one and only Jumbo deal a few years back. A FT Evangelist who should have known better, called in while the deal was alive, because he wasn't "sure" if it was refundable or not. The deal was dead shortly afterward.

Btw: looking at the price on various other websites with the HA code, in Business for the same dates and destination it is coming out to more than 3000 Euro. So this seems to be an error on the HA website, not sure where they left the 0 out :P

Thank you for posting these, however, I would caution anyone who's concerned with refunding these tickets not to assume that the JLKRRT fare rules will apply to this JLTST fare. It is quite likely that the JLTST fare will be refundable, but there certainly may be J fares out there that are not. It is quite surprising that the HA website doesn't allow searching for refundable tickets only, or give any clear indication about refundability of tickets sold.

Got an eticket number now! Still can't believe that this deal came up as I was planning on ICN-HNL during Christmas time! Amazing..... Just gotta figure out which 747 KE is going to be flying on my dates!

If it is determined that these are refundable tickets, HA's contract of carriage rule 90 line item 4 states-

"For all voluntary refunds made on fully refundable type tickets, an administrative service charge of $100.00 USD will apply"

Of course, their Q&A also states this -

"Tickets purchased on line are non-refundable except in cases of death"

Not sure I saw this explored, but it works one way,
SEL-PDX $435 all-in.

This opens an intrigueing angle for me,
to convert a TATL trip to ARN/DME into RTW.
The savings on avoiding BA fees of $360+
almost covers the HA ticket !

If only could be sure of 24-hour cancel or refundable,
I'd be on it now with a one-way. @:-)

I'm in for one. That website is so bad. It just sat there at the end, saying it would take 1-4 minutes, do not hit back or anything. I got the email with confirmation number, but the page never refreshed.

Now to see how long this takes to ticket.
