Very grumpy that this offer isn't available in the other direction.

Don't know if spending 6 days still counts as a mileage run, but I just booked mine over Thanksgiving weekend and it should lock me for P1 in 2011-- just so I can make a run for 1k. =D

This forum is awesome. Thank you!

Considering you already lose 2 days on the way over, not really 6 days in total.

Damn!!! I didn't even think about Expedia since it wasn't booking on Orbitz. Cost me $3.

Anyways its still very much alive. In fact there is even more availability. I canceled the flight I booked a few hours ago since there are better dates/times now and rebooked. I love you United for having easy no penalty 24 hour cancellation.

Here's hoping for one of those awesome Expedia hotel coupons in the next couple of months.

Since I have to go to work in the middle of the two weeks I booked, I will have to find a first class *A award though ZRH or IST or something.

Killer deal!
I came to my senses while sleeping, and I cancelled the $1,150 tickets this morning.

The roommate is still in for the sweet $517 deal in coach. What a good nephew to sit in coach that far so he can take his elderly aunt to China! ^

I believe the YQ-vanish fares were gone.

At 4:30am EDT, I found $520 for 9/17-10/4 as well as 1/28-2/6 (for Chinese New Year). I got on my 6am flight thinking to book it as soon as I land. I called 1k desk 5 hours later and price had jumped back to $800 ish.
Why the sale was for less than 24 hours? Will this deal come around again, anytime soon?

It wasn't an intentional sale, they simply had forgotten to include the fuel surcharge in the total fare calculations and fixed this mistake today. The base fare didn't change and is still available, it just comes to a higher total fare once the fuel surcharge was added back on. While I'd hope such a "sale" would happen again especially to European destinations, I wouldn't count on it.

Red face

Can I buy a round-trip ticket for leaving SFO in the August and back in the September?

sigh, my school begins on Sep. 20, and I need to leave in the August, so that I could stay in China for more than a month.
