Are you sure that they match a consolidator's fare?

What is the Travelocity Price and Service Guarantee and how does it work?

The Travelocity Price and Service Guarantee is our commitment to deliver the best prices every time you shop.

If you find a qualifying lower rate for travel booked with Travelocity.com or another U.S. based web site,

* For hotel and vacation packages (excluding LastMinute Packages), you can notify us anytime until the day before check-in
* For all other products you must notify us with 24 hours of booking
* We will refund the difference up to a maximum of $500 per booking to the original form of payment within 30 days after your travel is completed

To invoke the Travelocity Price and Service Guarantee,

* Please read the Terms and Conditions for full details, and
* Complete and submit our claim form.

Result: If the information you provide qualifies for the guarantee, we will refund the difference between what you paid and the lower price, and give you $50 off a purchase of future travel.

The other board I read this tip on used CheapOAir and Webjet as examples. Before doing it I would email Travelocity to make sure they will match CheapOAir, but it sounds like it should work.

Look at the "second #2" here:

http://svc.travelocity.com/info/info..._TERMS,00.html

A Qualifying Lower Rate must be both advertised and available to the general public on a U.S.-based Web site. Qualifying Lower Rates shall not include corporate discounts or rates, group rates, charter rates, rewards program rates, incentives, meeting rates, convention rates, consolidator or interline prices, or prices available only by using a coupon, or any other rates or promotions not offered to the general public. A Qualifying Lower Rate may not come from a Web site which requires you to call to get the rate, or from an email that you received. The Qualifying Lower Rate must be quoted and booked in U.S. dollars (without reference to currency converters).

Thanks for the fine print. I don't think it is worth the trouble to get those price match things from other travel website. Too much risk just to get a $50 bonus as it is indeed a consolidator fare as was told by AC when I called to get seat assignments.

So far, my personal experience has been positive with cheapoair. Submitted order and waited for a few hours to get the AC e-ticket number then called AC to put in FF number and got seat assignments. Everything was done within a 24-hour window. It may not be a very smooth and friendly process when trying to get your seat assignments from AC due to the nature of the ticket (consolidator ticket) but that is what you get for striking a deal and not being AC elite member.

Once you get the e-ticket number from the airline (AC), WHAT ELSE CAN GO WRONG? I would like to hear those horror stories after ticketing if any.

Do online check-in 24 hrs ahead of time, and with some luck, you might be able to get row 18 (ie - people getting upgraded could have pre-selected row 18)

have fun!

it is interesting! I was offered bulkhead upgrade for $100.00! It seems that the AC agents just do things however they like?!
