Need 4,300 Delta MQM Miles

I'm looking for a mileage run on Delta to get to Gold status before the end of the year (short 4,300 miles). Origin is MCO. Need to travel on 26/27 Dec if at all possible. Or, should I just carry-over the "excess" 20,700 miles of the current balance of 44,700?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Million Miler vs. Frequent Flier Miles

Provided it gets me to gold, I'm OK not getting credit toward Million Miler. I've got just over 700k toward Million Miler status and expect to be there in 3 or 4 years. (I got the 47k this year in only 3-1/2 months having been out of work until September).

Funny, I'm short the same amount and haven't found much luck finding anything under $500 (not worth it for me to make silver). I made the mistake of qualifying for American first and having leftover there (where they don't let you carryover).

Yeah, I can't find anything under $700 (MCO-SEA-MCO). Pretty much everything else is north of a grand.

I'm leaning toward carrying the "excess" 20,700 miles over into 2010. Based on the amount of flying I'm doing in my new job, that will probably put me over the top for Platinum next year.

Unfortunately, that's silver for me so I can't carry over. I prefer to divide the status between AA and Delta since they are the only ones that fly from my home airport (and the nearby ones) and I end up on one or the other. Wouldn't you know I ended up a little over on American -- the one that doesn't roll over?!

How about $444 including tax?

Sat. Dec. 26 MCO to ATL to SAN, departing MCO 12:30pm, landing SAN 6:50pm

1 night in SAN

Sun. Dec. 27 SAN to JFK to MCO, departing SAN 6:15am, arriving MCO 7:36pm

Mileage is 500+1888+2443+945= 5776

Just found at nwa.com

Not bad - I'll definitely give this one a look-see. Thanks.

Remember you will remain gold for January and February '10 anyway - so if you are flying a lot in '10 - you may only have a couple of months where you are silver - before you "requalify" for gold.
