AA Fare War BOS-LAX $179 RT All In

The BOS-LAX AA fare war and 3x miles are heating up. New fares loaded through end of May as low as $179 round trip, all in + baggage check fees.

Great. It's been $179 all in for about a week now - and was as low as $139 all in several days ago.

Argh, I missed the $139, but $179 is still a good fare.

Wow, I've been paying 239 for the BOS/SFO runs but just put a LAX run on hold. I don't really need it but what the hell. I sure wish I had waited for these prices! By my math, if you are PLT 10 RT runs at 179.20 each nets you EXP and 208,880 RDM at .0086 cpm! Not bad at all! And if you are going from BOS you can do it all overnight and not miss a day at work! ^^^

Doesn't seem to be happening on weekends in May/June. Not bad fares, but closer to $300. Since we have to come from SJC (or SFO) that adds a bit as well.

Cheers.

I did find one BOS-LAX on 5/16. Out on first flight & back on the 12:50. I can give up a Saturday for 20,888 miles!

ITA shows same-day turns at the $179 O fare for several weekends: 5/9, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31 (in addition to many weekdays). As filed, it looks like the fare requires travel by 5/31 as OP noted.

Also valid for O/W purchase, fwiw.

The triple miles promotion for BOS-SFO/LAX/SAN ends on May 31st too.

Does it work LAX-BOS and on a "O" fare? Non-stop of course.

Yes that works.

For more miles -- redeemable and status -- you may probably price LAX-SFO-BOS at or near the same fare too.

Cheapest I see is $199 AI here. I'm actually thinking about taking a week off work in May and doing 5 or 6 of these in a row. I'd have to drive from DTW though since the cost of a short positioning flight from DTW to BOS costs more than a transcon!

I see $109 each way for October. Unfortunately no UA match, though the differential washes out if you plan to upgrade with miles due to AA's $50 "co-pay"

Got it all lined up....six consecutive BOS-California RTs with another AA positioning flight. Also need a $117 positioning flight on DL for which I'll use part of my $2,800 DL credit from the last TYP fixed redemption.

117.4K RDM
72.8K EQM
$1460

Got everything reserved until tomorrow night. Just gotta decide whether or not to do it...borders on insanity but I don't think a better deal will come along this year. I *AM* quite bored with a reduced workload due to the economy, so I'm thinking why not? I can sleep on the red eyes, watch DVDs and read during the daytime transcon, and spend my extra eight hours during the afternoon surfing the net at the lounge in LAX/SFO and drinking. Can't be too bad, right?
