CO DFW/MIA to Europe Fuel Surcharge Mistake $450rt all-in

A couple hours ago Continental misfiled the surcharges on a batch of Trans-Atlantic airfares from DFW and MIA to the following cities in Europe:

AMS, BCN, BER, BRU, CPH, EDI, FRA, GLA, GVA, HAM, LIS, LON, MAD, MAN, MIL, OSL, PAR, ROM, STO, ZRH

They normally have a $224 fuel surcharge which is missing, inventory available now on continental.com most routes mid $400's all in - travel through Mid May (Departures Sun thru Thurs)

Enjoy!

There seem to be a lot of $300-$400 fares to Europe these days. If it was valid all through the summer I might think otherwise.

Perhaps they've just eliminated the fuel surcharge?

i thought CO doesnt have a surcharge that was separate from the fare like the YQ. I always thought that it was embedded within the fare thus making it non-negotiable.

This seems logical. Oil is cheaper than it has been in years.

CO files surcharges on rule category 12 "Surcharges" on this relatively small batch they appear to have misfiled with no charge ($112 each way on other fares in the market), Inventory is L

When you get a $450rt all in for summer let me know

ex CLE works

Works ex CLE for low $500s, some locations routing through IAH.

These fares have been around since at least yesterday. See this thread.

Granted, it looked like the fare was pulled for a few hours this morning; glad you noticed that it's back.

Yes, I missed this yesterday while thinking about NRT.
I see DFW/MAD or DFW/LIS at $381 ai for May.
(But almost double that out of AUS.)

I'm not complaining

Been wondering what's been up at CO. Unfortunately most are L fares that don't make it MR worthy for DL or NW. Did like the NRT fare though, Gold status in 2 flights

Agreed, you never see so many CO: blah blah blah in the MR forum like I've seen this week! Perhaps they are doing it on purpose. I'm thinking this one out of DFW and MIA is intentional and targeted to AA?

And they're gone. Prices are now almost twice what they were five hours ago.

And yet they never generate as much interest as UA: threads seem to.

hmmm... my guess is because CO flyers (inc. me) are not used to having these type of deals that often.

I bought a MIA-TXL roundtrip for $421 on Thursday (for the low airfare, not for an MR). Flying on CO in mid-May. Then briefly this morning AA appeared to be matching, which peeved me b/c I'm an Aadvantage member and would've went with them for the miles. However the AA fare was gone within an hour or two.

The Continental fare was only available through Orbitz and Vayama, and by the time I bought, it was no longer on vayama, so I went through Orbitz.

Funny thing is I found MIA-TXL for $377 ai on AF 2 nights ago, and didn't bite. I was so peeved the next morning when that fare was gone, but then hours later, all of a suddent CO has similar dates for $421 ai via Orbitz.

These random low fares that are popping up are quite welcome in my book. It's not summer travel, but mid-May is a great time to go to Europe when airfare gets this low.

Of course I'm still waiting to find a similar deal to 2 years ago, when I bought a peak summertime MIA-LHR RT for $488 on VS. I don't know if I'll be able to top that anytime soon.
