Interesting. Nice find OP. Doesn't work from PHL, but you connect thru it. Base fares as low as $64. Is PHL the new ORD (PL reference)?

This fare to DUB has been on sale for at least 2 weeks - saw it then too. Still decent availability.

Agreed. If UA didn't even match, but came within $100-$150 of this I would book in a heartbeat just on the off chance of an UFC, as I'm sure the fare wouldn't allow for SWUs.

Does US charge for [non-alcoholic] drinks on International flights?

I'd obviously prefer UA (or anyone else) metal, but this is a really good deal that even allows departures from DCA for the weekend - pretty nice indeed!

Just to clarify, "Soft drinks are complimentary on transatlantic flights" according to usairways.com. Free "improved" meal service too which sounds better than UA's...

A few questions, if I may:

- Does being a UA 1K get one anything flying US, or does one go to the back of the bus, with all the better seats going to US elites?

- Does US give a minimum 500 miles per segment, or just the actual number of miles flown? UA will give a minimum 500 miles even though the flight might have been on US metal and not a codeshare, right? Still same UA MP EQM and mileages bonuses when flying US, except no credit toward 500-milers (4per 10K BIS) and CR1s, right?

- Any destinations other than DUB for a comparably low fare?

- WAS-PHL-DUB-PHL-WAS would be enough of an MR by itself for me, no desire to try for some extra EQM/RDM with another segment or two rolled in. But does the "free transfers" provision mean that one could, if they wanted to, try to work more segments into the itinerary for extra EQM/RDM without seeing the fare jump so long as one still started from WAS going to DUB and returning to WAS? (Maybe a PHL-CLT in the mix, or something even crazier to include PHX?)

Why does US's sound better to you than UA's, because they threw in "improved"?! Have you compared their menus in coach, or better yet sampled each, ideally more than once? (I haven't.) Does anyone ever expect something substantially better than military rations (MREs) in a coach meal, especially on US carriers? How much would you be willing to pay for a typical coach meal if it were served in a restaurant? (I could see $4-$5 if I were somewhere with no food alternatives anywhere in sight.)
