I booked it around late Nov/Dec. 2004 for travel in January 2005.

RIX-ARN-CPH-SEA-LAX-LAS and same back on SK/UA in J and domestic F several years ago. It was actually considerably cheaper than RIX-CPH-SEA-LAS on same carriers or RIX-FRA (overnight) - LAS on LH/DE. I collected around 30k Eurobonus basic points in a single itinerary out of 55k required for the Gold at that time. Total travel time was ~30 hours

Obviously they lost my baggage on the way to LAS so I was able to buy some clothes and stuff that was later fully reimbursed by the travel insurance company

I'm not sure if this would count as one of the best....... but weren't there dome pretty cheap intra-texas fares around on DL for a while, something like IAH-AUS, that allowed for routings via SLC and ATL for about 7000miles or so RT?

I did a couple of those for around $110 each. Too bad they changed the routing rules.

OH, yes, the famous Latin Pass run. Truly an amazing run! Too bad things like that don't come around more often!

I bet many who did this also got to do the KLM balance match a year later; now that was a promo!

The AZ DEL_MXP_LHR round trip for 10 pounds in J class was pretty close to unbeatable. Did it 2 times.

look this contest isn't fair, since united in march offered triple miles this year to those who qualified by flying a certain amount last year and if you were premier exec it was 4x.

That means that almost anyone who used it (like me) got incredible miles deal.

Mine was like $900 (with a 20% off voucher) from iad-lax-nrt-hkk-sin (stopping in lax and hkk overnight).

because the next day's flight from hkk to sin was 5 hours late, united provided like $150 in voucher compensation (maybe $200 I can't remember). Anyway that worked out to about $600 for about 90,000 miles

The YYZ-LCA deal isn't all that great for many, once you factor in getting to YYZ. For best deal ever, I'd vote for the New Year's "Canada" fares, when booked through Opodo.
...you live in YYZ

mine was a $550 flight to Bangkok, the plane broke down in NRT, overnighted, everyone was given $250 voucher however mine was a special problem and I recieved another $600. on the trip NRT to BKK seat 15-a was broken and I recieved a $250 voucher and on the way back I had two seats one BKK to NRT and the other NRT to LAX both with problems, one was a seat problem the other was the video so another total of $500 compensation.

All in all UAL paid me $1050to come fly with them to BKK and the miles. How much would that be for cost per mile?

This doesn't count as a mileage run, but back in ealry 2004 I was travelling to Hong Kong frequently for work and CX was struggling with post 9/11 and post SARS slump so they had terrific incentives for business travel. I recall earning about 80,000 AA miles on one round trip IAD - HKG because it was under a promotion that granted 40,000 bonus miles for your 3rd RT in addition to the regular class of service and elite bonuses.

It was a full-fare business class ticket so not effecient in terms of $/mile, but a great way to rack up some miles on a trip i had to take anyway.

Best error fare for me were the $20 BA World Traveller Plus RTs US-Europe in 2003.

Best pure run that the airlines knew about: LH AIRail in late 2001/early 2002.

Best "secret" run: my invention on the $600 AA CDG-EZE R/Ts: I managed to have them routed CDG-HNL-EZE-OGG-CDG, 40000 base miles + 100% PLT/EXP bonus + 100% triple miles promo. $1800 bought you EXP, 8 VIPs & 360,000 miles.

I can't compete with the Alialia Toronto-Cyprus BIZ flights at around $37++, but my best would be the three CLE-ORD-NRT-SIN-NRT-ORD-CLE trips that I took on UA and got the 5x miles deal. Sure, I could have added LAX after ORD, but these were so sweet, I couldn't justify adding the travel time into my schedule or getting up earlier. I ticketed those for $735ea. all in, but the beauty was I got paid my consulting fee for each day, including my travel time. So, that was 100,980 miles rt or 0.7 cpm. Not a bad day's work!
