Major ITA processing shift?

Have any of the rest of you noticed an ITA change? ITA recently seems to reject even medium-complex itinerary searches (three segments, specific dates each) that it used to swallow whole for breakfast. Or it processes a medium complex search, and takes 10-20 minutes to do a single search. Previously, ITA always timed out after a minute or so if it was taking a long time.

Do you have any ideas of what (if anything) has happened? And any work-arounds? I find I am totally dependent on ITA for my flight booking process, and now my flight booking process is totally disrupted. I'll pay! I'l pay! Just tell me how to get ITA working like it used to!

I have noticed that my searches are taking longer and longer. Even building simple roundtrips like LAX::ua sfo ua ord; ord::ua sfo ua is taking forever. I'm not sure if its simply because they are seeing increased traffic, or if some fundamental change has occured.

Same here. Some searches are taking so long that occasionally just close the window and move on.

maybe they have assigned less bandwidth to this tool?

Bandwidth doesn't seem to be a problem because the pages load fast once they load. Perhaps they've reduced the available processing power, changed their algorithm, or have had an increase in load.

I've noticed it, especially when I do a month-long search. Sometimes, e.g., 6-8 nights works, but not 1-2 nights. Then the specific date search WILL work (and then sometimes it won't if I add in "or the day after")

Very odd, but very intermittent.

i've not noticed it much... what i do notice is that ua+ never seems to work for me anymore

Domestic searches have been OK, but international searches are taking FOREVER.

I've also found that specifying flights by a certain booking class (a slighter higher than lowest cost fare - ie M on AC) may work on the outgoing flight but ignores the booking class specified and prices the lowest priced fare (AC -Q) for the return.

I use ITA from England and have found the same problems. However, I have a feeling they are not quite as bad at times when the US (or all but those FlyerTalk obsessives!) are asleep, suggesting that it is some kind of capacity issue.

We're looking into it - the site is maxing out its current capacity a few times a day at the moment. Hopefully we'll be able to resolve the issue before too much longer.

We've got a software upgrade scheduled in the next couple of days that may somewhat mitigate the problem (and also fix a few other known pricing issues).

Is anyone having problems bringing up ITA Software ? The site has not responded for me yesterday or today.

it seems to be working for me.

with regards to the site being slow... here is something that works for me. After one - two minutes, I press the back button on my browser (firefox) and it goes back to the ITA Software Trip Planner. I then press the foward butotn, and it seems to go straight through to the results :)

Cheers
