Travelocity prices this out at $2599 in BC for LH, whereas BA is $11,000+ in BC. Still not a bad deal.

It appears that we're (mistakenly) labeling Gulf Air "A" class as "First". I've filed a bug report.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I spoke too soon.

Upon further investigation, it appears that "A" class is indeed first class on Gulf Air, and that this ticket is being correctly priced in first class with a $0 mixed-class differential.

At least one GDS (I can't name names) matches our pricing, if you book the non-codeshare legs in "A".

believe the gds is galileo. fare showing on www.cheaptickets.com (which is linked to galileo) but havent found a european source. seems to be outbound on saturdays, and return on wednesdays. It would be worth checking out latest experience of a previous gulf air ultra low fare, to bombay/delhi before booking. see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...ay#post5734990

when reviewing the fare rules on CheapTickets.com, they show the fare basis as LLRTIE. L is "discounted economy" according to the Virgin Atlantic site, so I'm a bit hesitant to book...

on cheaptickets?
it does seem to let you book it but the fare code L doesn't bode too well.

GF miles can be saved to virgin or a few others. or just put into gulf's own program, as they often have specials with 50% off redemptions etc.

I got it to the last page on cheaptickets as well. GF First Class looks pretty nice. It would be interesting to see if they honor the fare.

Just booked a trip for myself and a friend, ticket numbers are already showing on the "My Trips" page of CheapTickets.com. It says "Economy" for the BD legs, "First Class" for the GF legs. Fare basis is now Q ???

Let's see what happens when / if my paper tickets arrive
