There's a higher fare (+$150) that's valid through May 31...

An absolute steal for those able to fly out of ORD. With the double miles to Nagoya promo going on. It is definitely a trip to consider. I'd go to Kyoto if I was going since its only a $56 one way ticket and 35 minute trip on the bullet train.

Just a word of warning: The dates being mentioned here are during one of Japan's three peak travel seasons, the Golden Week Holidays. Think no open seats on domestic flights, standing room only on the Shinkansen and other long distance trains, and inflated hotels rates (if there are any rooms left). The reason one can get flights into Japan on Apr. 29th and out of Japan on May 3rd is because the Japanese are going in the exact opposite direction at those times.

1 night in NGO only

People, people, people. you got to get into the MR frame of mind.

You only need to stay 1 night (20 hours really with immegration and check-in lead time) in NGO.

The fare requires no stopovers and that the return to be 4 days after departure, not arrival. No limit on transfers, MPM 7760 from ORD, 8281 from IAD. You have 23 hours and 59 minutes for each domestic connection.

For example:

Washington, DC (IAD) to Chicago, IL (ORD) Friday, Apr 8
United Airlines 281
Boeing 767-300/ER Apr 08 2:40 pm depart IAD
Apr 08 3:55 pm arrive ORD stops: Non-stop
Class: Coach
Fare Basis Code: KXNGO5I/UAF
Booking Class: K

Chicago, IL (ORD) to San Francisco, CA (SFO) Saturday, Apr 9
United Airlines 149
Boeing 777 Apr 09 3:00 pm depart ORD
Apr 09 5:30 pm arrive SFO stops: Non-stop
Class: Coach
Fare Basis Code: KXNGO5I/UAF
Booking Class: K

San Francisco, CA (SFO) to Nagoya, Japan (NGO) Sunday, Apr 10
United Airlines 831
Boeing 777 Apr 10 1:00 pm depart SFO
Apr 11 4:20 pm arrive NGO stops: Non-stop
Class: Coach
Fare Basis Code: KXNGO5I/UAF
Booking Class: K

Nagoya, Japan (NGO) to San Francisco, CA (SFO) Tuesday, Apr 12
United Airlines 830
Boeing 777 Apr 12 3:35 pm depart NGO
Apr 12 9:25 am arrive SFO stops: Non-stop
Class: Coach
Fare Basis Code: KXNGO5I/UAF
Booking Class: K

San Francisco, CA (SFO) to Washington, DC (IAD) Tuesday, Apr 12
United Airlines 862
Boeing 767-300/ER Apr 12 11:15 am depart SFO
Apr 12 7:24 pm arrive IAD stops: Non-stop
Class: Coach
Fare Basis Code: KXNGO5I/UAF
Booking Class: K

Total Airfare (including taxes and charges): USD 494.20

We'll leave two stop routings from ORD as an exercise for the reader.

Where: http://www.united.com/ Multi-city search

How: Use search by schedule, make sure you flights have bucket "K" > 1 and don't fly on SFO-NGO-SFO on saturday.

April 29th to May 5th, though with May 6th being a Friday, you can expect many people to extend their holiday through to May 8th.

For those of you who are planning to take advantage of this e-fare sale to NGO and apply it to United's Around the World promotion, keep in mind that this is booked in K class and ATW requires T minimum.

Good find dogmom11!

Best I can find from West Coast with eFares is CLD-LAX-SFO-NGO and return, out 4/1, back 4/3, one night stay, 12,604 EQM, $435 all in, about 3.45 cents/mile before bonuses.

Might be a more creative routing from east coast?
