SAS Advent Calendar
Just a reminder to all that the SAS Advent Calendar is starting up again on December 1. This was a very good deal last year for building up early mileage on a * carrier. You can sign up for e-mail reminders at http://www.campaign.scandinavian.net/christmas2004/us/.
Despite recent changes to the SAS FFP, UA and AP still award 100% EQM on discounted SAS tickets. ^

IIRC, in past years there were some decent west coast USA originate fares to Europe/Scandinavia for around $249-299 range return. Wasn't there a different city featured every day, also? Or you could wait until Xmas Eve and hope seats still there and they opened up all cities for sale again. Travel was stricly low season, however.
Still, well worth waiting for. Thanks for the heads up, ohcanada. ^

Remember that many programs have reduced earnings on SAS flights, and the christmas calendar offers are likely to be in these lower classes. See this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=365889

Mrs OhCanada and I went to Milan on this deal earlier this year, and except for missing our flight in EWR on the outbound and being snowed in at EWR on the return we had a great time. This year we're travelling through ORD!
The interesting thing is that SAS offers the same type of deal from the other countries it serves, at approximately comparable prices. Some deals from Scandanavian countries go to Asia, for example. One idea I had was trying to combine a SAS US-Europe trip with a SAS Europe to Asia one for one big MR. Has anyone tried this?

I wonder if other airlines might join in the fray.

There are no details in any of the country pages yet but you can sign up for the notification if you want. I think it's just easier to sign in on the SAS site each day from a couple of countries and see what is offered. As I remember from last year, there was someone who posted the complete list from the year before, although it is unlikely that the destinations will be offered in the same order.

Here's the AC Aeroplan links:
https://www.aeroplan.com/en/collect/...n_airlines.jsp
https://www.aeroplan.com/en/collect/...atus_miles.jsp
And as far as I can determine, SK still earns full AP EQM, for now. AC recently changed some of it's partner earning ratios, but could only find notices about OS, LH & JK.
