CO EWR-SNN/DUB questions
Considering a mile run to Ireland to take advantage of some nice fares to Ireland. Looks like CO is matching the Air Lingus fares.
One question though, was thinking of taking a Sat evening flight that arrives in DUB at 8:10 on Sun morning. Then I plan on jumping right back to return to EWR on a 9:10 flight.
Is this enough time? One hour to clear customs or is there a transit area in SNN/DUB?

There are a number of specials going on right now to Ireland.
Best is the CO/NW/KLM combo. As I mentioned above they are matching an Air Lingus fare.
$253(tax not included)
Valid for Sun-Thurs TO Europe
with a return FROM Europe Mon-Friday
A Saturday Stay is required
KLM (Fare Basis Code VLXSL33)Ticket by 1/14
NWA (Fare Basis Code VLXSL33)Ticket by 1/14
CO (Fare Basis Code TLX63SE)Ticket by 1/14
$293 (tax not included)
Valid for Fri & Sat TO Europe
with a return FROM Europe Sat & Sun
A Saturday Stay is required
KLM (Fare Basis Code VLWSL33)Ticket by 1/14
NWA (Fare Basis Code VLWSL33)Ticket by 1/14
CO (Fare Basis Code QLW63SE)Ticket by 1/14
I am looking to do this Sat/Sun run.
EWR-DUB
1/18/03
CO FLT 25
Departs 8:40pm
Arrives 8:10 AM
Return DUB-EWR
1/19/03
CO FLT 25
Departs 9:10 AM
Arrives 1:30 PM
I found this on Expedia. May be available elsewhere.

I won't commit to anything, but I don't believe that's there's a transit area at DUB. However, travelling with carryon only, you should be okay with a fairly short turnaround time -- although you have to recall that you DO go through the INS at the DUB side, not at EWR on the return.

Joe,
If you aren't going to see the sights in DUB, why don't you just do a MR in the continental US? I just booked BWI-EWR-IAH-SEA-IAH-EWR-BWI for Feb. for $209, and the total base mileage is 7550 vs. EWR-LGW-DUB-LGW-EWR total of 7986. Plus, you don't have to fly in coach for 6+ hours.
Just trying to help -

Thanks for the suggestion. The only thing is that I do many of these runs on the sly (my significant other is very plane averse).
Therefore, I need to make runs that get me as far as possible, collect major miles with as little time spent at a reasonable price. It a mad combination yet somehow I was able to pull it off this year and keep CO Plat status.
This one will have me out of town for roughly 16 hours. There is a one hour layover in DUB. I will be airborne earning miles practically all the time. The run you mentioned while infinately better will more than likely require an overnight stay. Tough to justify that with the little woman.
