Trying to do a run from DC Area on UA in December
Ultimatly, I would like to do this on the 23rd, or 25th, or 26th.
Can leave from IAD or BWI or DCA, and need about 6K for a run.
Currently, have a 5.2K run IAD to OAK
price is now at 208.00
thanks for the tips

I'm new at this - do I use ITN or UA.com or doesn't it matter? Is this done using the multi-cities feature? </font>

Thanks nmenaker!
I am a long time lurker and am finally going to make my first mileage run to push me over the 1k edge.
This is exactly what I needed, all in one day and I will end the trip with 100161!
Thansk to all the flyertalkers whose posts have enabled me to get this far.

Welcome to FT, AlphaGolf! (Great handle BTW.)
The Bay Area seems a bit of overkill IMO, given that AG just needs 4 quick-hop segments to garner the ~2,000 miles.
I usually like using the "Fare Compare" on Expedia to find places which appear to be running very cheap at present, but for some reason it's littered with Javascript errors today and won't work for me.
Your best bet is probably a UX destination in the Midwest somewhere. I'm getting 4K miles for $141 out to MSN (Madison, WI) this weekend through IAD, DAY, and ORD. (Details on page 2 of this board.)
In your case, I found $176 to MKE from BWI:
12/14 BWI-ORD-MKE-ORD-BWI, your choice of flights both out and back.
If UX isn't your thing, here's a sample of a $225 all-jet same-day turnaround:
12/14 BWI-ORD-IND-ORD-BWI, leave any time, return any time.
I'm sure there are other deals just as good out of BWI (think other Southwest hubs).
(Edited to add: Wow, the MKE deal, at least, is good out and back from DCA as well! I'd grab this one or something similar if you can ... you don't often see sub-$200 fares out of National.)

I just bought DCA-ORD-GRU for 14400+ base miles roundtrip for less than $430 using the e-saver fare on UAL.com.
I will now meet some friends there next weekend that I never get around to seeing often after I get my visa this week, since Brazil is not US passport friendly/easy.

Thanks for the good advice (and the welcome and handle praise; actually I've been lurking for some time).
Well, I followed Moog's advice and tried all over the midwest. I settled on a one day DCA-ORD-MCI-ORD-DCA for $161.50. Flying won't be too interesting, but it'll put me over the top (just).
UA just doesn't seem to match WN out of BWI. How inconsiderate of them.
Thanks again.
