No Availability in SIN Transit Hotel - what to do?
I'm arriving on UA 805 at 11:50pm 11/22 and leaving on a 8:30am 11/23 morning flight on Malaysia Airlines. Unfortunately the SIN Ambassador Transit Hotel says they're fully booked. Any advice on what to do? I'd love to try sleep for a few hours and shower if possible.

Since one of the hotels is under construction, this seems to be happening a lot. I got put in an economy room, as this is all they had left. I emailed asking for a change if anyone is a no-show or cancels. Apparently, this happens often enough to make a room for you possible. Send an email and see what happens.

Ask them to ad you to the standy-by list. As stated, many no shows each night.
They asked me to come back in an hour (1am or so). I went to the computer area where it's free at night, came back and she had my room. It allowed me to sleep in that extra hour too!
BTW, ask them if they have a room with bathroom down the hall. Rates are cheaper and if they can confirm, you can wait for the next size up.
Good Luck.

So, is it worthwhile to just get the economy room for S39 and use the shower for S5.5 than getting a room with a bathroom for S55?
How is the shower facilities at the transit hotel?

I was just in Singapore yesterday (Sunday)and had the chance to use the fitness center and showers there. Shower only is S$8.40 in the fitness area. A drink is included. I was surprised by the quality of the shower room. There are 4-5 shower rooms with a glass enclosed shower, sink, toilet. Plenty of room and clean. I don't know about the common showers in the hotel area.
There are plenty of areas to sleep in the terminal, but a room might be more quiet and dark. Construction can be heard from T1, but not near the hotel. I also noticed a sign that said the rooms include all facilities, so keep that in mind if you wanted to use the gym.
I'm going for a budget room on 11/25. Let me know if you have any questions that I might be able to answer.

Forget sleeping... seriously! Grab some sleep on the flight into SIN and then enjoy the few hours you have.
Take a cab into the city, go have a nice dinner on Boat Quay or at Lau Pa Sat and then head back to the airport, check in for your flight, catch a nice hot shower at the transit fitness center and breakfast in the terminal or lounge and then sleep on your flight.
