UA CMH-SFO $39 each way!

May be gone, but if they are I'm sure it'll be back .. United posted today

CMH-SFO/SJC/SMF $68 roundtrip 7 day advance
CMH-SAN $78 roundtrip

Almost makes me want to fly United.. ALMOST!
But for those of you who like that kind of thing you can't beat that kind of mileage run.

I think most of these fares are good in both directions.

And to think those of you who was paying $108 RT thought you got a good deal

Where are you finding these $68 RT fares? Best I could find was low $200's.

Used 12/18 & 12/19 return all CA cities to CMH

EPS' pet peeves:

Listing fares as "each way with required round-trip purchase."
Listing fares exclusive of taxes, fuel surcharges, and other mandatory "hidden" fees.
Please, FlyerTalkers, can we skip the hype and stick to true prices, as least when discussing U.S. domestic SITI travel?

OAK-CMH was actually pricing at $65 RT inc. taxes for a few brief minutes around 2am EST this morning, giving a base fare of $38 plus taxes.

However, the fares are gone now *poof*

The two I got this morning worked out to $83RT (from OAK) and $93RT (from SMF) with taxes included. On the $83RT fare the base fare was $54RT, and the rest taxes. I ticketed for dates in Jan and Feb. They're gone now.

EPS; I'd be happy to post "RT required" next time, but I don't know about fees and taxes and other fees because I don't price the fares out. I just see them on my list of good deals but since they are on UA I don't look any further.

There's a $2.75 Federal Excise Tax per flight segment; also (currently) $3 per airport Passenger Facility Charge at most airports (SFO is one of the few that does not collect a PFC), capped at $12. Hence, a "$39 each way" 1-stop fare out of SFO has to have a true price of at least $98.

Greedy airports want to see $5 PFCs.

Not a bad price, I'd say....

As just proven, no calculation is that obvious, and I'm not here to do math. Taxes and fees can range like crazy. There's still a $20 each way surcharge on some routes (but not these Southwest dominated one)......

I believe it is the Intercontinental Hotel, which is the closest to the airport, 1/4 mile, free shuttle, which has workout club, showers, lockers, for about $10 per visit. Just in case you've got same day turnaround.
