Seems gone.

This started last night around 8 PM PDT with fares to Chile updating around $300 for most US airports for Y. Seems someone did forget something this morning when updating the fares higher (as Chile re-opens).

DFW SCL can they cancel tkt now?

We snagged 2 seats at $350 each RT. I was worried they would invalidate the ticketing, but it is showing as 'confirmed'. Is there any reason to think they will invalidate this ticketing in future? My hunch is that they would have caught it and cancelled with 24 hours?

In these situation it does not pay to panic and make firm plans right away. If you aren't flying this year then wait until next year. If the tickets are still fine by then it will be all ok. They can decide what to do with them at any point. There is no specific timeline.

UA joins the party!

UA EWR-IAH-SCL RT for $307 (https://www.theflightdeal.com/2020/1...ing-all-taxes/); similar price from RDU on UA but with more limited availability. The fare is available for the period of January-May. I have not checked more cities.
Edit: BWI, PVD, BDL are other destinations with this fare!

This is for Economy, not Premium Economy.

Also, same Economy is available with Copa, AA, Delta, etc

Yes, it is an economy fare because United has not offered Premium economy service on IAH-SCL route yet. The aircraft used in this route, however, could be a Polarized version with Premium plus seats in Economy Plus section so that United elites could choose it for free. Because there are so few elites traveling now, they will likely get a row of three economy plus seats due to large Economy Plus cabin, which will beat DL Premium Select.
Happy New Year!

New entry r I l

  • All passengers (including Chileans and residents) must complete an obligatory 10-day quarantine upon arrival in Chile. Beginning Wednesday, March 31, all passengers arriving in Chile (including Chilean citizens and residents) must complete the first five days of quarantine in a transit hotel. During this time, all passengers will be required to take a PCR test. If the test is negative, passengers will be allowed to continue on to their final location (hotel or residence) to finish their required quarantine. Passengers are responsible for the cost of the five-day hotel stay.

Yes and I was able to use that fact to get my flight fully refunded due to the current situation in Chile.

Awesome. Good to hear. I'm a little weary about asking for any kind of downgrade compensation due to the nature of the sale. Thanks for the quick response!
