LA: MIA-LIM from $280 (earn 10000 Alaska RDMs)
Alaska is having a promo with Partner airlines till year end which offers a minimum of 5000 RDMs per segment to/from the USA.
That makes this Economy trip from Miami to Loma, Peru of interest... Fare is just $280 and you can even travel during Thanksgiving... It books into O class so just 25% EQMs (1304!) but the minimum RDMs makes it attractive...

$222 tonight. A good price if you are in MIA but 10K AS miles would cost $275. No excise taxes through the end of the year. AS runs specials on a pretty regular bases so the cost to purchase miles is probably favourable to flying Y to LIM if you aren't already going there.

MIA-LIM-MIA is 5216 miles. If you are looking strickly for RDM it is pretty much a wash between flying and buying. At $222, the RDM are 2.2 cpm. Unbonused, the cost of 10K miles is $275 (2.75 cpm) Would one be willing to fly that distance in Y to save $53? Unless your plans include the route, a MR just for the 10K MP miles, I doubt, would be appealing to many.
If you are seeking to attain status on AS the EQM (25%) would be 1304. At $222, the EQM is 17.03 cpm. Ouch! My cost for EQM flying AS partners this year is < 5 cpm and I never sat in Y.
