AA, UA: ATL-SNA rt $136 Basic Economy; $196 Economy

Basic economy but good price from Atlanta to the west coast. AA has limited availability starting in April but plenty for August and beyond. Easy stop in DFW. Less options on UA.

If it's Basic Economy, it doesn't accrue mileage... ergo, this is not a mileage run.

Maybe you can ask the moderator to update the title to reflect the 'regular' economy price?

plus $60 for most of the AA/UA's Basic Econ to normal Econ so $196 for this trip.

3,872 miles for $196 equals to 5.06 cpm...not a good Mileage run (3.51 cpm for BE, but only accrue lifetime miles)

That would be for nonstops, which don't actually exist on this route. On UA you can route via SFO for 5278 PQM (for elites, with 500 minimum on SFO-SNA), making it 3.71 CPM. Getting there.

The “good deals in economy class” thread is perfect for BE fares, otherwise the mileage run section will be filled with almost all BE fares.

Actually I calculated out of ATL-DFW-SNA route, which is pretty close to nonstop from ATL to SNA (3,838 miles)

Updates: a lot of same day return for this route in August, September. Some itineraries make one-stop at ORD, which is 800 more miles than ATL-DFW-SNA
