AA VACATIONS: LAX - BKK or LAX - PVG $515 for Up to 57K Points, 1665 EQD, 16650 EQM
Flight and Hotel in PVG or BKK for under $530. The minimum points you earn will be around 35,000 without status and then 10% of mileage for EQM and EQD. For those with EXP you will earn over 57K points for BKK because of the 21k point bonus to Asia. Lets see if these attachments work. Apologies in advance. And this books into economy NOT basic economy.

Finally the cat is out of the bag on this one. 20k bonus points is for most Asia/Pacific destinations so this is a fantastic value imo.
Does anyone know if you can earn 20k bonus points multiple times for this deal (on multiple trips)? I am tempted to book a couple of trips this way

That is a very very good question. I've also noticed similar prices to Saigon. With 5/6 trips you could earn your EXP for around $3k and an absolutely ginormous amount of miles. The $130 discount is over at midnight PST today, however. I plan on spending to next 3-4 hours trying to find something out of SAN. The drive to/fro LAX just kills me.

I don’t think that you can get $130 discount AND 20k bonus points. The deal says not combinable and says you will only earn standard 1000 aavacation bonus points.
I also called aavacations and asked them this question earlier today and they confirmed this

So it should earn: 16,680 (miles flown) * .5 (O* earning rate for distance) * (status multiplier) + 20,000 (AAvacations Asia/Pacific promo) + 1,000 (standard AAvacations bonus)

Some locations have hostels which are very cheap and you can "burn" (not show upto hotel) and still earn promo. Also, you can call AAvacations to book hotels for different locations in Asia.

I've found early March from JFK to BKK for less than $600 (w/o using the $130 discount). New York EXP's can earn over 2100 EQD's, 21000 EQM's, and a whopping 67,600 points. Nesting a flight while in BKK might appeal to some but that's too much time in Y for my sanity.

You should be able to fly ANYtime so long as you book by Dec 26th. They've had similar deals in the past and 20k points will post eventually. (it sometimes takes 4-8 weeks to post after flying)

It simply means you need to purchase the vacation before Dec. 26.

You just gotta dig up a vacation in Asia that is flight plus car instead of flight plus hotel. I can't find a single Asian destination that offers rental car as part of the package.
