Good find. This is pricing out at $583 on Kayak for me right now, which comes out to 2.8cpm for EQM and for non-elites, and 1.24 cents per RDM for current Alaska MVP Gold 75k elites like myself, which is probably cheaper than you could ever buy AS miles for during a sale. The best mileage run fare I've ever found on AS was 2.39cpm per EQM or 1.06 cents per RDM for MVP Gold 75ks, and this find of yours is definitely in the same ballpark.

Qantas is the last partner airline that earns 100% miles on AS even at the lowest fare. Not sure how long this will last; get those mileage runs in while you can!

Problem with the QF runs is that they require a pretty sizable minimum stay. I'd be all over this if I could knock it out over the weekend.

Fiji Airways still have good 100% economy fares as well.

I guess I just assumed that since 2 of their fare classes earn only 50% that the majority of low fares would be in those classes. Good to know there are sometimes cheap fares in the 100% earning classes.

I flew FJ SYD-NAN-LAX on September 23rd, late evening departure, overnight flight, landing at LAX September 24th in the early afternoon. I am returning early November.

I booked into a 100% EQM fare buckret. The return was USD $693. 7488 EQM 16,849 RDM as 75K one-way, 14,976 EQM 33,698 return.

Looking at ExpertFlyer for some random November dates, the cheapest listed fare for LAX-NAN-SYD return is in a 100% EQM bucket.

How full was the flight and how was the experience?

Very full, seating was a little tight. Unfortunately, I had a person of size sitting beside me so it felt tighter than I think it should have. Service was good, "Island relaxed" & friendly. It was my 9th flight in 6 days an 2 more to follow so what food I had on what flight became a little muddled.

I did get an offer to bid for a J seat ranging from AUD$900 to AUD$1300 for the NAN-LAX segment with a suggested starting point of AUD$1050. Considerably cheaper than purchasing outright J but about what I paid for the whole return.

I will return in a few weeks. My flight departs Friday Evening and land on Sunday Morning.
