AC/AA/DL - YYZ/YUL - PEK/PVG - starting @ $614 CAD [3.9 CPM]

Apologies in advance if this post doesn't meet the strict criteria of a "great" fare in that sense that the CPM is below 3.5. However, there are some interesting aspects of this fare I came across:
  • Multiple alliances are offering similar pricing for this deal (AA for OW and AC for *A and DL for SkyTeam)
  • Fast turn-arounds are possible (including via Japan if you need to travel on a TWOV)

With that out of the way here are the deals I found:

AA : YYZ -> PVG - $614 CAD:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...-LGAYYZ1AA3748

DL : YYZ -> PEK - $682 CAD :
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...-DTWYYZ0DL6217

AC : YYZ -> PEK - $753 CAD:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...=STAR_ALLIANCE

AA/JAL - YYZ -> PEK - $690 CAD:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...-CLTYYZ0AA5533

This last option will allow you to milage run to PEK since you're arriving in PEK from Japan and leaving for the US on outbound.

These deals also seem to be possible out of several other Canadian cities, namely:

AA: YUL -> PVG - $615 CAD:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...-LGAYUL1AA3746

AA : YOW -> PVG - $612 CAD:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...-PHLYOW1AA4852

Safe Travels,

James

Tango "A" within Canada (i.e. first segment YYZ -> YVR) also isn't that hot for Aeroplan (25% milage earning).

For those on UA's program, A fare gets you 100% status (except for YYZ -> YVR which is just 25% status). Depending on days you may find a non-stop routing between YYZ and PEK which would mean you get 50% RDM and 100% PQM on UA since the segments are entirely international. You'll get 50% RDM on the fare except again for the domestic YYZ -> YVR portion which yields 25% RDM.

My (limited) understanding with DL and AA is that you'll earn 100% status on all their flights so long as it's not basic economy (which it won't be as it's an international itinerary). Fellow FTers please let me know if this understanding is incorrect.

Safe Travels,

James

Not overwater, but when I searched for YVR-DFW last year every AA flight had a Basic Economy option. IIRC still had it this year when I was looking for a flight back (I tend to book one ways unless flying overwater longhaul).

These look like pretty good deals but, alas, I was unable to find an itinerary on DL from YYZ over a weekend that would be allowable under the TWOV rules. If anyone finds one, please post!

You wouldn't find it. Delta does not fly direct to China from YYZ. As you would have to connect in US, TWOV would not be applicable.

So I've discovered. I was hoping I could find something that went through ICN or NRT or somesuch on either the inbound or outbound leg but no joy.

Take China Eastern, MQM is same but only 25% on spending and qualify for TWOV.
