This is actually repricing for me now on Google flights, from $637 to around $900. It seems to me the fare may have been pulled but still trying to verify.

Yeah, I'm pretty confident this is gone. Even the fringe SFO-WLG/CHC are repricing around $300 higher now. I saw it alive all day but didn't pull the trigger since the 7-day min was a killer...

luckily on my return I have a 15 hour overnight layover in AKL so I’ll be ok with delays on the outbound.

7 day minimum but since you arrive +2 days later it’s only 5 overnights. I plan on spending a couple days in Queenstown and a couple days in Christchurch visiting friends

That's very good. If it was 5 hours their would have been good cause for concern

Looks like the fare is dead, re pricing to $900

i am seeing something similar out of LAX for around $775.. better lounges at LAX too.

my spouse booked 20 minutes after me, mine ticket, his was cancelled due to fare being gone.

now what in the heck am I supposed to do with a single ticket to New Zealand ...

Call and cancel if it is less than 24 hours since you booked it and next time book yourselves on one reservation so they ticket together.

i did a solo 12 day South Island camper van road trip in 2016 and it was arguably the best 12 days of my life

I did a similar 2-week solo trip with a week on the north island and week on the south island. So many good memories.
