LH Y: ARN/OSL/CPH to LAX/SFO R/T - $303 - 2.2 CPM

UPDATING per Boogie711's correction about fare class

Lufthansa (and SAS) appear to be attacking the OneWorld carriers on the cheap Scandinavia to US flights.

Open schedule starting in January

Books in 'L', some book into 'T'

12,674 R/T GOT - FRA -LAX - At $368 R/T you are looking at 2.8 CPM - Example date 1/21 - 1/28

Route through Munich for a few extra miles - 13,576 R/T ARN - MUC -LAX - At $303 R/T you are looking at 2.2 CPM

Your CPM calculations are incorrect... remember - if you want miles, don't book in Lufthansa "K" class. A quick check of Matrix shows "L" inventory available for between $50-$100 more.

Still a great fare! Just don't book in K.

If you prefer to fly in premium cabins (J/F), there are plenty of good deals there:

F on BA for $3,833 USD:

J on LX/UA/SN for $2,374 USD:

Presumably you're talking about United MileagePlus. K class earns 25% in LH Miles & More and 50% for elites.

Do you have an example?

My guess is these are the new eco light fares. No free piece of checked luggage etc.

Yes, exactly. Thank you for confirming my point - if you want miles, don't buy K class. It doesn't matter whether you're collecting with United, Lufthansa or nearly anyone else... avoid K.

Yeah, these US fares a eco light (you need to pay for checked luggage) which was introduced for the Scandinavian market some weeks ago. Nothing new there.

As already stated you will earn very limited miles/points (if any at all) with these fares.

If you happen to be under 26, SAS can give you 3.9 CPM on Eurobonus or 3.1 CPM on Aegean on the same route in O class with luggage and etc.
Plenty of availability.

True, that's an amazing deal. But I don't know if it's me but I can't just sit 11 hours in eco so I guess I'll go for the premium offer.
