OW all the way via HEL for 961USD next summer... All 787s on the long-hauls.

Great price!

For 10€ more you can route via FRA on 787 and arrive on HND instead of NRT

Has anyone been able to reproduce the booking shown in the original post, using the same booking classes? Also what fare (or fares) is this? AKL-SCL + SCL-TYO or AKL-MAD + MAD-TYO or some other permutation?

I didn't even try. All I know is that I'd want to avoid Iberia. JL's 787 is perfect (33" pitch) and the service is vastly superior to IB's, even in crappy Y.

I'm tempted to add this to my summer travels next year, but the fare probably won't be around long enough for me to make up my mind

@notsosmart - to avoid Iberia, just play with dates.

I've found this itinerary as well, but haven't managed to price it on an OTA due to the complex routing, even when using the Matrix Powertool. Has anyone been more successful?

Anyone able to tie in a North America airport?

This is a huge play for Alaska Airlines, I am trying to figure out a way to get to Asia to make this round the world ticket.

This is a rather interesting "fare." I've been playing around with it. It's basically a really cheap SCL-TYO fare that allows combinations with any other LAN fare on a half round trip basis. The fare calls for a $345 fuel surcharge each way; however, depending on your starting point, you are able to avoid that, thus making it much cheaper than it should be.

You don't need to start in AKL, in fact MEL is even cheaper if you want to start in that region.

I've been able to price ICN-MAD-SCL-LIM-MAD-HEL-NRT for $624 or for a RTW ICN-NRT-LAX-SCL-LIM-MAD-HEL-NRT for $760.

played around for a while, this can be a great trip to take given the stamina and time, and base on my limited knowledge about AS, it can earn a lot of miles.(book into V,S,N on LA stock so that is 100% on AS I assume?) ICN-MAD-SCL-MAD-FRA-HND earns almost 50k for MVP75K if my calc are correct.

if depart from ICN it is apparently difficult to build a stopover on the outbound no matter where, and if you want to visit IPC/PPT you have to leave from c6. you can return to KIX, OKA etc for a bit more. inbound can have multiple stopovers in c4,c2,c3,but anything complicated chokes google to produce a link to priceline, such as mixing in carriers like JL and sometimes EK. (the stopovers give FTers based in c2 a good chance to break up the legs, or just hop off at any gateway in c3 like PEK,ICN,TPE,HKG,SHA,BKK. fyi, PPT-IPC only runs on tuesdays)

wonder also why only ICN works for c3 (LA should publish fares to China and others right?), and c1/c2 seems impossible as an origin.
