Got J for SFO-SIN ... Waiting to see if SIN-LAX clears... there are still 21 available per the GS agent I talked to yesterday, so hopefully that will clear as well. At least the outbound is cleared... making the longest flight tolerable. Will stay a night at Marina Bay Sands and enjoy the infinity pool, and a nice dinner in the city before flying out the next morning. Meeting up with some friends as well. Not bad for a super cheap ticket. 1MM ... here I come! I may try a PEK run next year and stay out there for a few days to see the wall and some other sites.

Anyone else out there that has overnighted in SIN, what other hotels are nice? I have stayed at the MBS before and enjoyed it, but am open to suggestions.

In the more distant past, I have been given an op-up on BRU-IAD with UA as a *G when US Airways was still *A before I switched to MP.

On the plane back to LA rn. Free E+ is a "NO NO". When I had no status I could get free E+ for INTL sector with no problem. Strange. No comment on that cuz that's the policy, and some agents were kinda mean about that. I got 40L from LAX to SIN cuz that's the only window seat I can get. Middle seat was empty, so not too bad. On the return flight, got 27A. Now UA does not allow overbooking flights so I didn't get a chance to be a volunteer and make extra cash. SATS lounge is better than Krisflyer Gold Lounge if you're flying coach. The relationship btwn SQ and UA is so bad that UA uses SATS lounge, and information board in SQ lounge does not even display UA flights! My legs and my butt feel super bad right now. I'm 20, and I couldn't imagine how people can do this MR! Went to the lounge for the first time, surprised to see most passengers were business travelers. And my casual attire didn't really fit with the atmosphere. Didn't find many passengers around my age. Now I realize not so many people love flying. Some fly because they have to. I fly for fun. Still a memorable journey, but not gonna do it anymore. Happy thanksgiving everyone!

I was trying to be positive. It was either that or miles and co-pay? I figure a buy up would be unusual for someone flying an ultra low fare.

Haven't kept up with GS benefits, but I think that they used to be able to use GPUs on award tickets. I'm guessing that would also allow them to use them on a lower Y fare, but could be wrong...

nope... GS do not have added benefits on revenue fares. I did miles plus copay... flying with the Mrs and wanted 1 biz seat.

That is indeed a lot of miles. You can become an Million Miller with five such trips.

Your math is correct. However, miles accrued for this trip is approximately 22,896.

I think slightly less. IIRC United.com indicated 22233 as I put in the title of the other thread. (UA: EWR-SIN $409 RT (22233mi, 1.8cpm)

Maybe it's changed since then? 600ish miles isn't a lot, to be fair.

I apologize for the inaccurate miles number.. I just wanted to point out that the math was correct, but based on an incorrect assumption. I would go by the number of miles as indicated by the original poster.rather than edit my post to hopefully obviate any further confusion.
