LCY-JFK r/t on SQ/LX/UA/LH £4300 (approx) Y

Haven't seen many London departures in the forum.
Bookable with united. Probably a good opportunity to avoid BA and Ryanair at the moment.
I picked random dates in June but fare may be wide open.
Earns over 14k with Miles and More, 11k with united.
I'm not very familiar with Star Alliance but it could be good for gaining status.

I didn't want to say because I'm normally wrong with these things but I thought it might be an error fare. I think the fare rules are quite good? I don't fly very often with Start Alliance tbh, but I've been having a nightmare with BA recently. The staff were really rude the other day.

Difficult to tell what's a good deal at the moment. My PA normally books these things .. and it's been a while since I traveled in economy. I have a friend who raves about SQ.

Perfect for a weekend mileage run. Leave on Friday evening and back by Sunday evening. Slightly cheaper return via GVA. Overnight in FRA is a bit of a pain however.

Uhhhh this is not a good deal. £4300 for all Y?

For £3000 you can book LHR - IST - JFK - IST - LHR also for a weekend turnaround but in lie-flat J the whole way (depending on which LHR flight you take - otherwise lie-flat just on the long leg) on TK which books into Z so good mileage earning plus the benefit of backtracking via IST for extra mileage.

19k+ on M&M (150%), etc., etc.

Just to give you a sense of what is considered a good deal around here:

Europe-USA: Generally less than $500 roundtrip in Economy, most typically $200-400. Originating in London may be a bit higher.

In business, for Europe-USA good deals are generally less than $1500, usually varying between $1000-1800, although <$1000 happens a couple of times a year...And these are USD, not GBP.

As others have posted, this fare isn't even a good deal for a business class fare. Certainly, it does not fall within the usual parameters of a Mileage Run deal on a cents per mile basis.

Therefore, I am closing this thread.
