Be advised, most of these are BASIC Economy (B):

personal item (under seat), no carry-on
seats assigned at check-in
no upgrades
no changes or refunds
board in last group

There are $95 main cabin fares though

The $50 (O) are sprinkled in to be confusing

I'm seeing plenty of O fares (NOT basic economy) - available almost every day in January according to a quick ITA Matrix search.

Just booked good flight times in O fare class in January with no issues.

Thanks for posting this, got DCA -> SFO for two for $200.22. I don't' know anything about basic economy but this fare let me select seats (no status AA member) and included carry on baggage (the two pieces). Paid with gift card and Aviator card and it shows AAdvantage® benefits = Priority.

From what I can tell basic economy should not allow you to select seats?

Booking Code O with:
Endorsements/Restrictions

NONREF/SVCCHGPLUSFAREDIF/CXL BY FLT TIME OR NOVALUE

Ah, misunderstood (read ex as via and thought UA was also doing WAS-SFO - my mistake). Thanks!

Booking code O is REGULAR economy, not basic economy. You're good.

The title is incorrect, there's plenty of regular economy inventory available.

I booked DCA-SFO rt in mid-Dec for $101 in O class so got to select seats and already waitlisted for upgrade. What a deal!

Also, works to JFK as well so long as DCA in the mix. I managed to get a direct JFK-SFO routing in my booking. (SFO-ORD-DCA-JFK-SFO)

The DCA/IAD fares were regular economy; the similarly priced BWI fares were basic.
