Some research into schedules and Delta Comfort+ ticketing has revealed that first A350 on the DTW-NRT route will potentially begin October 30th 2017.

So if you want the A350 I'd suggest booking October 30th or later. 747 book prior to that date.

I can't get these prices to show anymore, but those DTW-NRT routes now do actually show as being operated by an A350 and offer premium select for sale on the delta website.

Really? October has even more open dates now at the $711 price.

Also available from NYC (LGA-DTW-NRT-MNL) for $711 in September.

Lots of availability out of both ORD and MDW at $894-$894 through March 2018, according to Google Flights.

Out of Seattle it's 701. But then again it only gives around 14000 MQM's.

A quick Google Flights search shows lots of dates in September, October and November out of Newark with airfares between $700 and $800. Here's a sample:
