October 18to26 availability
great mileage run
|
Good MR. Assume by PE you mean C+. No PE on DL yet and no Class of Service bonus for C+.
|
DL has no PE. This is an economy fare.
|
This sits you in Comfort+ at the very best. Same seats as Economy but you do get a luxurious 4 inches of extra legroom :p.
|
I've done YYZ-SIN and YYZ-HKG runs on DL that were in the $450 - $550 USD price range, so this price is not all that great. As others have noted, C+ is not a PE cabin and does not have a class of service bonus on DL. Although I believe if you credit to VS, they give all 'W' fares (even C+ ones) a 50% bonus.
|
How do you think this compares to SQ from IAH in PE on the A350 for about the same price?

There is no comparison: SQ is a true PE product, not a marketing gimmick.

I copied above link but it doesn't work for me. Can you please give me exact link.

DL does not "market" C+ as PE. DL has it's own PE coming when it starts taking A350 deliveries later this year.
If the plane isn't an A350 and it's got a DL logo on the tail, you're going to be on C+ on this fare |

It's just treating any 'W' fare as PE, even though that's not the case. That's not Delta's fault, it's Google's fault. Go search on delta.com and it will clearly label these seats as C+, not PE. |

What's going on is that Google Flights does not distinguish between C+ and PE.....

I've done a few longhauls from YYZ on Delta because Toronto is such a competitive market. It's only 3 hours drive from Detroit. The issue is Canada customs/immigration at passport control are very suspicious of travelers on mileage/status runs.
BTW, there usually some excellent $2000-ish business-class airfares on China Eastern to Asia out of Toronto. |

I booked one of the cheap YYZ-DTW-NRT J fares that will require positioning to YYZ (by air), will Canadian immigration give me any flak for transiting US-CA-US each direction? It really isn't a mileage run, it is legitimate tourism, just trying to judge how much time I might need to plan for when scheduling positioning flights. I do have Global Entry which I hope would help a little.

Try this for CAD: https://www.google.ca/flights/#searc...YZ0DL1821;eo=e or here for USD: https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...YZ0DL1821;eo=e |

Airport is a breeze. It's the land border passport control when driving that gets suspicious, especially when you're flying to Manila or Singapore and turning around right away. They don't "get it."
I'm still hoping I can bail on the final DTW-YYZ leg and just fly direct from DTW the next morning so I can avoid another round of customs/immigration/US pre-clear only to have to connect back through DTW anyway. |
