UA: SFO-HND $570 April 11,850 PQM (4.8 cpm)

Fairly new to mileage runs and this forum, so forgive me if anything is formatted incorrectly!

Found this one for 4/21-4/22 if anybody is looking for a quick run. Routes SFO-HND-PVG-SFO, HND-PVG leg on ANA in K (50% PQM). Found via Google Flights, is bookable through Priceline.

As a newbie, let me know if this is one worth sharing or any other feedback

Side benefit: this seems to satisfy TWOV rules, i.e. it can be done without a visa for China. However, a check-in/gate agent may be unfamiliar with that nuance. (No personal experience in any of this.)

This is true, since it transits via a 3rd country. I'd recommend having a print-out of the TWOV rules from Timatic before you fly though if you don't have a visa...

Also it looks like this is actually a SFO-PVG fare, which just happens to connect in HND, which is great if you don't have a Chinese visa, but not-so-great if you've ever flown ANA Y before.

I haven't checked the viability, but you may be able to route this one via GUM on the twice weekly GUM-PVG flights to gain more miles, E+, RPU eligibility, and an interesting routing...
Edit: it's kind of possible: https://goo.gl/flights/jZsJ

Rajt93; Thanks for sharing this one.

I booked similar dates after seeing your post and was able to upgrade the SFO-HND for fairly cheap.

Much appreciated!

Just to note, this is actually a fairly cheap SFO-Shanghai fare that allows fairly liberal routing (there's also an SFO-Beijing fare around this same price range), with this instance happening to connect in HND.

So something like this would work for TWOV?

Thanks for the correction rob. Glad to be of help, all! Knowing this is easily upgradeable is tempting me to pull the trigger.
