Happy 2017!

Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

A few requests for posting in the thread:
  • When posting 'Good deals' fares: please post the city pairs/airport codes and pricing in the body of the post and not just in the post title as it isn't visible for those reading it on mobile devices.
  • Note that you can subscribe to this thread: go to "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread and click on "Subscribe to this thread".
  • This is not a fare request thread. Any fare requests will be deleted.
  • This is not a how to book a fare thread.

AA PVD-DUB $351 RT for Sept, Oct, Nov. Clearly a result of Norwegian's low fares.

Nice find. Seen anything else good out of PVD lately? I'm thinking of doing a MR (or two) to get myself to Plat Pro or Exp by year end.

Not the most pleasant, but if you wanted to do a same-day turn:
PVD-CLT-MIA-LIM-MIA-CLT-PVD for $457 (5.8cpm). Could also spend a few days there in between.

Interesting. I'll look into that one. I recently flew PVD-PHL-PHX-CLT-PVD in a single day (18hrs round trip). It was just enough to make the plat challenge. A bit tiring, but not so bad. Didn't hurt that I was flying F/J.

I think your link is broken/incorrect...that seems to just take me to the general Google flights website, not any particular flight.

Thanks for that! I've been using another tool, but you had to enter each airport in a separate box. This one is much easier.

And I guess I'll be in the sharing mood. I'm finding some pretty decent fares to China from AUS:
https://goo.gl/flights/RuRP
https://goo.gl/flights/AHkY

The CTU one really interests me. Hilton properties there are very cheap. And I do have a 10-year Chinese visa with about 9 years left.
I'm mulling between those 2, or doing a BA PE version for about $1800, which would put me at EXP (the AA coach would put me at PPro).

Even if you're not in AUS, I'd play around and see if you can get close. We're fortunate here with strong competition between UA and AA that results in some excellent mileage run opportunities.

You've been able to find a AUS to China in BA PE for $1800? Still in the sharing mood? I'm originally from Austin, can go see some family and squeeze in a run at the same time.

Well I lied, but was close.

$1911.06 for: AUS-LHR-PVG, PVG-LHR-AUS.
One of the layovers at LHR is about 5 hours (the other 3); a bit long, but I don't think long enough to leave the airport.

There's various dates this fall; I'm looking at mid-Nov (before Thanksgiving).
You do need to be a member of AARP for that price, otherwise it is about $200 more, but the AARP membership is I think $52 for 3 years (and they have an associate membership, with no age requirement).

Shoot me a PM if you want details or are interested in joining me.

I've already booked DEL for Sep in BA PE, about $1700.

UA SAN-ORD rt for $98 in Basic Economy

UA SAN-ORD rt for $98 in Basic Economy

Example date Sept 29-30. Redeye out to Chicago, and return to San Diego the next evening.
Regular economy is considerably more expensive for this particular trip.
Booked it for a fun day in Chicago. First mainline United flight for me in over a decade!

Txl-ORD/MDW as low as £290 RT in Aug 23-28 2017

Good for a last minute US trip for the summer.

https://www.google.co.uk/flights/?f=0#search;f=TXL;t=ORD;d=2017-08-23;r=2017-08-28

Seeme to have been triggered by a low fare on AC Rouge but full service options available for a few £s more.
