AC/*A YYZ-PEK $370 13,156eqm 2.8cpm!
Folks - I thought I'd use this myself, but I don't need the mileage with Star. Credit to YYZDeals.com)
YYZ-PEK-YYZ $496 CAD (which is $370 US).
Non-stop, and I'm looking at a 2 hour turnaround time for several combos - ie: November 23/24
Some notes:
These book in K, which credits 100% to UA because it's international.
There is no real option for extended legroom to *A elites without paying extra money. Expect a 31" pitch.
You will need a Chinese visa, unless you have another ticket which takes you out of China so you can qualify for the 27 hour transit visa. Canada-China-Canada does not qualify for a transit visa, because China is your destination, not your transit point.

works from other CA cities
Rate is also good from other CA cities! I booked (on UA) YOW-EWR-PEK-ORD-YUL-YOW for $500 in January, 2017. G class fare on UA segments, K on AC.

Yes, one of the reasons many are looking to switch away from aeroplan/air canada
In the air canada/aeroplan forum we call it the "slave ship" to be fair it's not that bad compared to discount carriers, but for a "four star" airline that is part of a major alliance, it is awful.

if its the high density 777 config 398/24/20 that they are using then they are right it will be very uncomfortable. seats are small and hard but if not then great find.
