AA: 18k EQMs, $800 NYC-DFW-ORD-HKG-SFO-DFW-CLT-EWR

I recently got the fast track Exec Plat invite, and was playing around to see if I could get to 35k quickly. Don't see too many runs from nyc so thought this might be of interest.

Its weekend travel, which is better for me. I just checked for weekends in October and there were a few. Here is an example: http://goo.gl/flights/Ai32

Very good fares!

Not familiar with the fast track rules. Not sure if the 2 CX flights give you full credits.

I got the 18k EQMs number by going through the booking on AA.com! I actually don't know how else to get an accurate EQM estimate apart from doing that.

I put the itinerary into www.gcmap.com and it shows 19,839 miles. Since flights in booking class S on AA earn 100% EQMs, I think you should get the full 19,839 EQMs (+/- a few depending on possible small discrepancies between what AA says the distances are vs. what gcmap.com says they are). The link you provided shows all of the Cathay-operated flights as AA codeshares, so they should count just like regular AA flights.

If you are doing a fast-track or challenge, the rules may be different as to which EQMs count. I wouldn't rely on 'normal' rules without double-checking the fast track T&C.

I looked around and there's a ton of options in that price range - including flights all on AA metal, non stop flights, layovers in NRT, and flights with JAL.

Nice find!

For the same price I'd rather do the LAX-JFK-MIA-UIO/PYT-MIA-JFK-LAX run. I have a seriously messed up back and more than a couple of hours in coach is unbearable - I can't imagine a 14 hour flight in economy.

Fare is good until 03/17 for what i was able to find

I only got the Plat fast track/challenge but I gotta believe the rules are the same and am curious what constitutes an "eligible" codeshare?

Are you previous Platinum? Just wondering what it takes to get the EXP offer - that's what I'm shooting for but don't see myself getting the full 100,000 EQM this year.

For your question - this thread is a good tool. Price per dollar per flight day the best deal seems to be LAX-JFK-UIO-JFK-LAX. Almost 22,000 EQM for as low as $800. Also available to PTY instead of UIO but you lose miles - but can do a same day turn around which you can't at UIO.

thanks -- this is really helpful!
not a previous platinum. recently got the aa citi card and also a citi gold member -- could be the reason i got targeted.

are you aware of any runs in that would earn close to 12.5k miles within the $0.035-$0.045 out of NYC?

Anyone seeing an option with SWU confirmable on purchase? I can't find any but I'm a bit new to searching that way so maybe I'm doing it wrong.
