Spend a day or two in PR if you go... they need the tourist dollars at the moment, it's not expensive and there are a lot of great things to do and see. Hiking El Yunque is great, and there are plenty of snorkeling and surfing spots to explore. I just got back from an extended weekend in Isabela on the NE corner of the island.
