AK: PEK - MEL one-way $198
Randomly discovered while checking flights out of PEK on April 12th.
A few other dates have equally cheap fares.
Not sure what the norm is for that route, but it seems to be closer to $600.

Air Asia has a revenue-based mileage program. There are awesome deals on short-haul flights on its regular points-break-type promotions. For those with the cobranded prepaid Master Card, there are more opportunities, but I believe the company may have shut down some of the comically low-hanging fruit for those with prepaid cards. https://www.bigprepaid.com
Rocketmiles periodically has killer bonuses for booking a stay, like 10,000 BIG Points, which could theoretically be 20 one-way short-haul flights during promotions for which one only pays taxes. It's an amazing deal for a one-night stay. Fees are particularly negligible if originating in Indonesia. I've never seen a US-based blogger write about the program. Let's see if any jump on this. I wouldn't know about any of this if not dating a former Air Asia employee.
