JL: LAX-CGK $625 [3.4cpm] (other airlines/alliances slightly more too)

Sample dates 11/25 - 12/2; found on Kayak

ANA/United: $659

KE: $710

Haven't had time to play around with it so I don't know if we can get this lower. Work is getting in the way of my travelling again...

IIRC, it's better to book on AA.com for 100% EQM when you fly JL metal from Tokyo to Jakarta

Question is though, does it price the same?

"N" nets 30% for regular mileage accrual, no?

I'm doing this itinerary in a week, and even though it's all N, c/o the distance it's still 6K miles. Now, if this was for the UA or DL mileage program...

You can book UA/NH that interlines with GA; or DL interlining with OZ.

They're interesting filed fares that are mixed alliances.

Bad comparison. If it was on UA or DL, then you'd get 100% EQM. Which is 3.3 times what you get if you attempt to credit N fares to AA.

The mileage reduction for cheap fares on UA or DL etc is only on RDM. If you rely on a mileage run for RDM, quite frankly you're doing it wrong.

So whats the best play? I cant just book on JAL and get accrual on AA?

Be sure to book with AA flight numbers if you want full credit.

Don't care about EQM, and never said anything about mileage running.

Nice try though.

...in fairness this is in the MILEAGE RUN DEALS section, as opposed to just the "good deals in economy" thread.

Not complaining about it either way, but I think the point about mileage running was valid and the sarcastic response wasn't really warranted.
