How are you booking

What tool are you using to book and which dates are you selecting. I am trying using kayak and ITA and dont get the same rates. Is it maybe because of the rates?

Use studentuniverse promo code LANTAM50 to take $50 off this fare. Flexible search on their website works well.

seeing some nice fares for $600 to GRU and GIG if you want to skip IGU.
I tried this on Cyber Monday and now, how are you doing the stopovers in Brazil? Every time i try, it jacks up the price to well over $1000. It seems like the TAM flights mess this up since LAN doesn't operate within Brazil. I booked the last IGU deal a few months ago and had no problems. I really need to get back to Brazil, Any advice?

Avoid LAN

My wife and I did MIA LIM IGU last month. LAN was horrible! We drove from Orlando to Miami to catch our 1:20 Am flight to Lima. We arrived at the airport and they told us our flight was delayed until 8:40 AM. They told us we would make our connecting flight to IGU, but that was a lie so we spent another night in Lima arriving a full day late and losing out on about 40% of our time in Iguacu.

The only consideration we asked for was an upgrade on the way home on the Lima to Miami segment. Although they had 4 spaces available, they declined to upgrade us.

They could have routed us through to Sao Paulo or Rio that night and we would have arrived on schedule. They had our email and mobile info but never notified us of the delay until airport arrival. In Miami they had us stay about 40 mintues from the airport and we did not get into our hotel room until 1:15 AM for a 5:15 wake up call to go back to the airport. They had two buses full of passengers but would not depart the airport until both buses were full. You can imagine the line with just three clerks at check in.

I addressed LAN Customer NO Service and their response was sorry , give us another chance. NEVER!!!!!!!!

Thanks Frank, a couple of questions:

1. I take it you did this on cyber monday, and not with this current sale?
2. What OTA did you use and how much was it?
3. How did you break up the multi city when searching? LAX-GIG, GIG-IGU, IGU-LAX? Or did you get more specific to force this routing.

I think these TAM flights are messing this up but obviously you were able to do it.

Thanks!

I'm sure it is, still curious though as I tried doing something similar on cyber monday and still couldn't get it to work. There might be a trick to it.

Hi--
Yes, cyber monday. It was $515 on Orbitz ($510 on expedia). Yes as you say in question 3: I put in the advanced routing codes in ITA (LIM, SCL) to produce LAX-LIM-SCL-GIG. (There is no existing LIM-GIG flight.) GIG-IGU seemed available most any day so finding that wasn't a problem.
Hope that helps.

On ITA I can price this with stopover in SAO ($627) but can't seem to book it without the price jumping past $1000. Anyone still getting this to work with stopover?

It might be a PIA but for what its worth, you can actually by a round trip ticket from IGU to SAO for a little under $150. Flight is a little under 2 hours.
