if you are plat / EP, add 21,880 bonus miles (100% bonus on base miles) for a total of 48,760 award miles = 1.88 cpm

Personally, I wouldn't do it unless I could upgrade the AA metal segments. But still, this is a very nice find. Thanks for posting it.

Now also on ANA/UA for similar dates out of ORD.

Fare works from 8/24 until 10/23 for Monday through Thursday departures. Some Fri-Sun departures are available for $30-50 more.

Doesn't work from WAS or NYC. Haven't tried any others

I thought the legs operated by Cathay won't earn miles since they're in the Q fare class

It's a codeshare so they will earn as according to the AA operated mileage earning chart.

Not really unwritten. Mileage running is typically for elite status and not for RDM which can be bought cheaply without flying. Thanks for the great fare post though!

When I start at LAX, I can only route via NRT. Any way to get it to route hkg?

Also available from PHL for ~$953 on same dates or a few days to either side.

My calculations show that as originally posted this is 4.2cp(eq)m.

Also found availability out of ICT (Wichita) for ~$932 with some extra legs for a total of 22,964 miles or ~4.1cpm. Probably can find some days routing through HKG both ways for 90 eqm more and the 5,000 RDM bonus.
