British Airways, IAD->LHR->BLR (Bangalore, India) $908
For $915, this is 2000 miles longer each direction
DCA->DFW->LHR->BLR 10,957 miles each way, 4.1cpm

Seems to have a 2-3 night stay, but with 27-30 hours of flights, that might not be a bad thing

Yeah I seem to remember a visa is about $75. Not a bad fare though

For the visa, must you apply in person or can you send your passport to the center with the application to be processed?

I see they recently outsourced the visa process. Hopefully it's not as painful as obtaining a Chinese visa...

there have been some decent Y and J fares to BLR of late. hopefully the J fares hold steady until i can book my needed trip for this fall. i've seen sub-$4K on LH from LAX to BLR 747-8 both legs.

LH stopped sending 748 to BLR a while ago. It's the 744 now.:mad:
