Not always expensive. I'm going for a long weekend at the end of October and paying $96.17/night for a single at the Thon Hotel Astoria in the city center. http://www.thonhotels.com/hotels/cou...hotel-astoria/ Additionally, sbm12 referred me to this one-night free Club Carlson Exclusive Gold Elite member offer which offers a free night. He recommended The Park Inn.

If you have the CC CC, you get a free night on every award stay, so your 44k-50k points will cover the weekend. Not a bad deal.

AirBnB it. Depending on your preference, you don't need to spend more than $90/night. And I'd bring sandwiches, nuts from home. The weather won't be great.

Anyone having luck getting it down to a 0 or 1 day turn?

Not sure if X: SAN is killing the fare, or me wanting a tight turn.

That's all I am finding too. I just sent an email off to our corporate booking agent to see if she knows how to find this route. She might come back and confirm that those low rates are all gone.

Thon hotel Astoria is consistently the cheapest Thon in Oslo, but the rooms are tiny and basic. There are other Thon hotels that are better and only slightly more expensive. Contrary to popular myths,Oslo hotels are not particularly expensive during the summer vacation, and even less so during weekends. If you want to stay longer there are offers for 3 and 4 days, even in SEPT/OCT the weekend prices are substantially lower than the MON-FRI prices, and they always include a breakfast bufet that is very good by N.A standards, its the litle things like a taxi ride,a tram ticket or a botle of soda from a convenience store that is crazy expensive in Norway, sort of 2 times Manhattan prices.

Ex SFO & LAX fare is now $769 NOV

It's been steadily creeping up but was able to find a decent K fare via ITA: ex SFO OR LAX:
10/31-11/2, LAX-EWR-OSL $769
11/14-16, & 11/20-23 SFO-ERW-OSL $769

Not the original deal, but not bad & I did not do any extensive searching - so could be there in Dec - didn't look.

Will I have to go through UA agent?

So, just checked with our corp travel agent. She said I would likely need to have a UA rep do the booking vs doing it online.

Anybody know?

Are any of these fares eligible for GPU usage?
