that's the one I bought. When I found it on google flights, it listed a higher price, but when I clicked through to aa.com, the lower price of $102 came up.

UA match...

@ $118 ow/$123 for connecting itins via IAH. $128 for LAX-SFO/DEN-IAH-MEX. Not bad if you want to get away from gringolandia for a while.

I might be crazy, but I'd like to return from MEX. What's the RT or return cost? Is there a minimum stay? Are turnarounds easy at MEX?

I have a trip to ZIH planned in July. I'm was thinking that I'd have to go LAX-ZIH on AM for cost reasons (UA is over $1000), but if I combine UA for LAX-MEX and AM for MEX-ZIH that would still get me some UA miles. I've never combined flights on different carriers -- any lessons on do's and don't's?

Similarly, if anyone has any recommendations for LAX-ZIH flights I'd love to hear them.

Thanks!

I've done this, but delays on one carrier won't always be taken into consideration if they affect your ability to travel on the other. So flight delays could result in change fees or cancellations that you would not incur if you were on a single carrier.

Any suggestions for doing a same day turn around at JNB (Sun. Jan.26) . Have done Soweto, etc. Maybe I should I just stay at airport in transit..? Thought about a day room, but unsure where to stay. I'm older and on my own so safety would be a concern.
