The below is from our moderator (taken from the first post of the thread - bolding is mine). Feel free to add more if necessary / as needed.

Happy 2014!

Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

A few requests for posting in the thread:

-members posting their deals please post the city pairs/airport codes and pricing in the body of the post and not just in the post title as it isn't visible for those reading it on mobile devices (ETA: ...or in email alerts)

-some members may be unaware that you can subscribe to this thread and to do that you can go to "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread and click on "Subscribe to this thread".

Honestly, I probably rely too much on United's own site. I hope it shows all the fares (even though it often does not). Anyway, after mucking with ua - got the reservation for BWI-LAS, through Newark. Thanks everyone for your help! (In particular for reminding me about 500 mile minimum rule, I completely forgot about that)

Just to be sure, since I don't see your status with UA: the 500-mile minimum only applies only to elites. Have a safe flight.

Thanks for the note! I am MP Gold (and trying to keep it for next year, hence the late-year flight).

Aeromexico (W Class, 100% on Delta) LAX-SJO ~$350. About 6.3 cpm. Instead of the BKK deal I took this as a cheaper and closer short vacation in early Nov. Found a bunch of dates this fall.

alexwuk,

The Etihad Dublin to Jakarta flight was taken directly from ITA Matrix eight hours ago and showed many more like it. May be gone by now.

Google flights is a very powerful search engine because it will not only show you connections that UA.com will typically not sell you, but it will also provide a direct link to booking those connections ON ua.com so that you can be assured of 016 ticket stock for PQ$ earning, etc. Same story for Hipmunk.

For instance, I recently priced out an itinerary for international travel on *A partners that included only a single UAX segment (everything else was NH and AC J). I was able to issue it no problem on UA.com, but no way no how could I get it through a search of the UA website.
