The below is from our moderator (taken from the first post of the thread - bolding is mine). Feel free to add more if necessary / as needed.

Happy 2014!

Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

A few requests for posting in the thread:

-members posting their deals please post the city pairs/airport codes and pricing in the body of the post and not just in the post title as it isn't visible for those reading it on mobile devices (ETA: ...or in email alerts)

-some members may be unaware that you can subscribe to this thread and to do that you can go to "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread and click on "Subscribe to this thread".

I don't usually post these for fear of being destroyed for a high cpm. But this struck me as a pretty good fare, though well in advance it's as low as I've ever seen. I'm already looking at early 2015 to get some miles and take some mini-vacations.

YVR-TPE

Multiple midweek turns (tue/wed/thu seem the most available) through Jan and Feb 2015. (There's no 2015 thread and I didn't wanna open a new one since it seems like something that mods would be doing).

YVR-SFO-TPE (UA K Class 777 overseas)
$772 Canadian

Bookable from Google to United, strangely though, there's 2 options the 6am YVR-SFO on UA can't click through to United's site, but choose the 8am YVR-SFO AC Rouge and suddenly you CAN go straight to UA and buy.

Only credits 50% to Aeroplan, but at 7255 miles is just over .10 CPM, obvs not a mileage run, but imo this is very cheap TPAC from YVR. Great for a week trip to Taiwan.

$620 is the lowest that I'm seeing. Is there a special OTA I should be looking at?

Here's for some phantastic one-ways from Atlantic Canada to London, UK, on AC and other *A carriers:

For example YHZ->LHR is available from CAD 355! (~Euro 250, ~USD 320). YYT from CAD 340. Books into L.

I've investigated YHZ (Halifax): There is wide availability for under $400, starting October 5 until Dec 15, then again Dec 23 to May 26. Then the minimum price rises to $455. Still a good deal!

Some of the flights are non-stop (YHZ-LHR), but there are other routings available, such as YHZ-YYZ-LHR, YHZ-YUL-LHR, YHZ-YUL-YYZ-LHR, YHZ-YYZ-YUL-LHR (!), and even YHZ-ORD-LHR (AC codes, UA metal). I believe there are more options, as AC-coded flights on other *A metal are allowed as well.

The cherry on the pie: Connections in Europe are allowed as well! I was able to find YHZ-YYZ-VIE-LHR starting at CAD 398. There is a long layover in VIE (over 11 hours), so it should be easy to shortcheck luggage to VIE.

I assume that other transfer points like Paris, Frankfurt, Brussels, etc. will work as well.

AFAIK, it does NOT work in reverse. One may be able to use Icelandair or Condor to come back, or a oneway reward.

Fare rules say that the ticket must be issued by Sept 30.

Coincidentally, there are also good return fares (YHZ-LHR-YHZ) available, from just over CAD 800.

Other starting points: YYT (St. John's, NFL) starts at CAD 340, YQY (Sydney, NS) and YQM (Moncton, NB) and YSJ (Saint John, NB) around CAD 435.

If you find other starting points than YHZ, please report. Outside Atlantic Canada: YUL and YQB show unusually low oneway fares as well, but not as cheap (in the 500 and 600s). YYZ had the usual four digit amounts.

Hmm, the fare rules expressly restrict end-on-end/OJ/DOJ/circle trips... It's a nice find though. I may make use of this. Thanks, sokolov

Well it is a one-way fare. Not sure how one would do OJ/DOJ/circle with a transatlantic oneway. :-)
